You know you live in 2008 when…

1. You go to a party, sit down and take Facebook pictures

2. You haven’t played solitaire with real cards in years

3. The reason for not staying in touch with your friends is because they don’t have AIM, MSN, MySpace, FaceBook, etc…

4. You’d rather look all over the house for the remote instead of just pushing button on the T.V.

6. Your evening activity is sitting at the computer

7. You read this list and keep nodding and smiling

8. You think about how stupid you are for reading this

9. You were too busy to notice number five was missing

10. You actually looked back up to see if there was a number five

11. And now you’re laughing at your stupidity

Purgatory Is Nearer in November

Entrance to PurgatoryEntrance to PurgatoryNovember is beautiful as the word sounds, is gray, is bare,
Is compact of wind, of leaves blown and the thin, tall rain;
Brought back to our care are the dead in November,
and the air of these days is charged with their pain.

For these are not the free dead, not the remote, bright crowd
Of our picture-book, or our image of nebulous heaven:
These are caught, tangled in a web comfortless as a shroud—
These have not familiar place, nor flight, nor oblivion, even.

They have not escaped yet-they are close in the clouds massing
together;
At the cold first drop you will stare on the dark ground and remember.
They are the accent of autumn, they are the source of the tone of this
weather.
The heart is reached by the waiting dead, in their month, in November.

The day Mumbai bled…

The Taj Hotel BurnsMumbai was shot at, bombed, and completely consumed by the insane violence perpetrated by emotionless “jihadi” warriors.

Pray that we come out of this stronger, sterner, and more united than ever before.

Ten Rules For Being Human

1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it’s yours to keep for the entire period.

2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, “life.”

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately “work.”

4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.

5.Learning lessons does not end. There’s no part of life that doesn’t contain its lessons. If you’re alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.

6. “There” is no better a place than “here.” When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”

7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.

8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life’s questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.

10. You will forget all this.
